So im up late last night on my laptop writing the blog below and i decide to put on some music so i switched to MTV hits which is now playlitstism which i thin sucks but anyways they had TRL flashback playlist which i thought was cool but followed by that was TRL finale celebration.
WHAT?!? "What does this mean" i thouht "oh no is it really here let me check the ,interenet". Sure enuff i was right, and i was never so upset before about a show canceling that i havent watched in about 5 years. A tear almost came to my eye (music makes me emotional)looking on mtv's website at the photobooth pics and best vidoes of all time.
I was psyched though to find out that they are having a big send off party and most of all Carson Daly(oddly enuff sometihng else i havent cared about in about 5 years) was hosting it as well. The man who at one time was the biggest thing in entertainment bigger than Seacrest today well maybe not but to me he was. Also they having almost all the VJ's come back from Dave holmes to jesse to hilary.I remeber hilary before she was a somebody just walking outside the TRL studio in times square getting a chance to interview celebs at the VMAs later on that week.They also have alot of the bands and artist com back that made TRL what it is.
Now i havent watched a single min of TRL on about 2 years and really havent watched it that much after carson left. But i am upset that its going off the air it was like my music bible i hardly ever missed an episode. I remeber before when it wasnt TRL it was MTV live with bill belamy. That was from a time where i used to watch alot of mtv with Daisy feuntes, Kennedy, SIngled out, Beavis and butthead etc. This was the end of all that and the start of sometinhg new. Not to long later they merged MTV live with a late night show they had called Total Request which premiered with Say what which later became saywhat Kareoke.
I still remeber the begining thinkin wow this is cool how they got rappers and rockers and the same stage with pop artists it was cool. I grew up with TRL iwas about 16 when it first premiered. it was like a best friedn back then and just like most of my friends around that time i stopped keeping in touch with most around the same time i stopped watchin TRL when i grew up into a man. so it reminds of the better days when things were simpler and life was more fun which reminds of a lyric from BLinks adams song "16 just held such better days Days when I still felt alive"which was a hit song on trl back then.
i would watch TRl all summe long. i remember playing wiffle ball out my back all the time wiht my friends and when we were done we would watch trl before we went to do whatever. or in the winter watching it waiting to get a runner to go to the packie(liquor store) for us. i loved that the most and VMAs and Grammy weeks were also my favs. some great Vidoes and bands and artist came from the time when i watched TRL when it was in its prime. I first heard of michelle branch on TRL loved that girl back then. Korn bemcame a smash Limp Bizkit who could forget them i dont care what anyone says about fred LIMP was fN awsome. The boyband craze came back i always liked Nsync and JT but remebr all the others beside BSB and 98% like take five and who could forget O-town, All or nothing is one of my fav songs.GO ahead say what you want it a good song. BLink 182, Offspring, sum 41, Luda,linkin park, Eminem, Nelly, Britney, Puffy, Puff daddy, P DIddy,MA$e, Christina, Xtina, Christina, Simple plan(thats from alil later time), wow all these great memorys.

Memorable videos- Forgot about DRE, Bad Ronald-Lets Begin, Freak on a leash-Korn, LimpBIZ- Shut the F**K up, good charlotte- anthem,Praise you and weapon of choice, Shanikua- lil T and one track mike, blink- feelingn this, all the small things, michelle branch - everywhere, and theres so many more i cant think of right now. Even some vidoes that no one proably remembers o rliked but me i remember seeing brook hogans first video on ther before anyone knew who she was, and i was like in love with fefe dobson and staci orico. Nappy boys, bubba sparxxx, missy had soem great vidoes on trl even though i wasnt a big fan of her music the vids were great.and remeber Mandy moores first video CANDY wow we really watched her grow.lets not forget lil bow wow either.
DA BRAT showing her tits while hosting- i couldnt belive this i called my brother right awya to make sure he seen this.
Eminem and Mark walberg- wow this was awkard i love EM but being from boston i like marky mark.
WANNA BE A VJ- these shows were also good my fave was RAy from the second go around. then i think he had his own show would poeple would compete for his VJ spot.
CRAZY BSB fan- when two teams one BSB fans and one NSYNC fans wnet up agianst each other to compete for i dotn know what it was but the BSB fans lost and one of the girls went crazy and threatened carson and the other ladies.
Hilary at the VMAS- i still remember watching her, she was pick ed from outside the studio to interview celeb at the VMAs i believe she did amazing i remeber thinking she shoudl do this more often i loved when she took a jab at christina and britny.
9/11- now this isnt a happy moment but it is memorable to me. with nothing on TV but total non stop news coverage of 9/11 life got a lil depressing around then. MTv helped alot by playing all videos from u2 to whats going on. im not sure exactly when it came on but TRL was the first form of live tv i saw that wasnt news or really any thing that wasnt news. Seeing all the flags on times square carson and artist almost to tears even rappers the show really did help cope and help me believe that things are moving on.
well those were all my memorable moments. it really makes me sad that a chapter in my life is coming to an end. its amazing looking back at how much its changed and how much i changed from the first episode to this sundays last episode. i wish i could watch it with some of the people i enjoyed wathcong it with back then back thats not happening.ITs run it course anyways im not even sure how popular it was today with the younger crowd but it was no where as big as it was in 99-2002.
WHats gonna happen to MTV now that there only source of videos is gone sure they got fN MTv but thats nothing like TRL, i do like fn better than trl right now havent watcehd much of it but remember lil wayne had an unforgetabl performance on it about 2 months ago. Whats gonna happen to Damian and the rest of the VJ's are they gonna introduce vids onMTV hits and get rid of the playlistism make it like old day MTV i hope they do that cause i want my MTV back. if i was good at making moveis on the comp it would have trl clips in this, but now i leave you with a sad song i dedicate to TRL.
